It's been 2 very busy weeks since our last update. Bodhi has been feeling mostly well the last few days, however he had a nasty respiratory illness for about 10 days during Week 3 to 4.
We took last week off from all doctors, school, work, the world and spent a lot of time together. He had his 11th adjustment yesterday and Dr. Steve is going to perform his re-check this Friday so we can see the progress he's made healing his neck injury.

Since beginning Dr. Steve's care a month ago, Bodhi has not had any headaches, nausea, random vomiting-- those were the big issues.
He's still irritable at times but his mood has greatly improved and he's more often his goofy, cheery self these days. He's sleeping sounder and not moving around or kicking his arms and legs like he did before. His energy is revitalized!

Check out this example of an incredible head-hand connection that required precision, speed and agility:
Bodhi caught a fish with his hands! There's a creek near our home that Bodhi likes to use as his biology laboratory.
The creek is flowing as the snow around it melts on warm days-- but OH MAN is that water COLD!!!
Bodhi amazes me with his connection to living creatures. I witnessed him coax a hummingbird to land on his finger in the New Mexico high desert one time. True story!
Here you can see him tracking a very large mystery bird perched atop the tall shed. He's been trying to identify this bird for a few weeks now. He think it's some type of heron though it looks more like a pelican when he gets close. At any rate it's HUGE! Bodhi estimates 3ft tall. He's excited about discovering and naming a 3 ft. tall Colorado pelican. He's going to call it the "Colocan".

Bodhi's well-being has changed for the better since we agreed to under-go a wellness plan with Dr. Steve. It's important to note that we deviated from the plan and skipped 2 adjustments (11 and 12) last week. Bodhi went Friday to Friday without any adjustments.
He felt he'd been scrutinized by too many doctors for too long and needed a break from the poking, prodding, and questioning of all of them, not just Dr. Steve. We're currently working weekly with a doctor who is a cranio-sacral specialist, and occasionally we check in with his pediatrician, naturopathic doctor, and counselor.
We took the week off from everything and worked on healing the respiratory issue with supplements, fresh food, eliminating dairy and sugar, water, outdoor air, sunshine, playtime and amma*mama love.
I haven't heard him cough for about 4 days now so I believe that whatever it was, his body has purged it. He sure has a sweet smile when we get to see it!
He had a headache again yesterday afternoon for the first time in a month, however, he ate a cheese quesadilla a few hours beforehand. He also experienced digestive issues so we are going back to strictly no dairy. I's been proven to me over and over from way back when we stopped his ear infections by taking him off dairy to now--- that dairy does not agree with him.

He does not test lactose-intolerant or allergic, however cow dairy is proven to increase mucus production and for Bodhi it's enough congestion to affect how he feels. His pediatrician has advocated elimination of cow dairy from his diet for the last 5 years.

He received an adjustment yesterday morning and today feels great! I think that goes to show Dr. Steve is right. It's important to follow your doctor's recommended treatment plan all the way through-- skipping certain things, whatever your reasons may be, can delay or regress healing.
This week Bodhi will receive another adjustment tomorrow, then the re-check Friday. After that I will post the original findings that helped Dr. Steve create a wellness plan for Bodhi and compare it to the progress he's made.
In the meantime, we are rockin' and rollin' this home-school thing! It is hard for Bodhi to leave behind his friends, however, it's a unanimous decision between his father and I (supported by our team of 5 doctors) that his school environment is not conducive to him becoming well.
We'll start blogging our home learning adventure soon. Stay tuned and drop Bodhi a line of encouragement if you are so inspired! Thank You and May All Be Well!
Check out this super cool project Bodhi designed this week! It's an edible birdhouse made from recycled cardboard, peanut butter and birdseeds. He plans to entice the Colocan to come closer so he can get a better photograph.
